Music therapy

Music therapy is a therapeutic method based on the healing effects that sound and music have on a person. Through various elements and diverse forms of perception and creation, music has a therapeutic effect on children. It supports work with emotions, communication, and social disorders of children and adolescents.

For who ?

For children who:

  • have high emotional tension and an excess of negative emotions
  • are shy and reserved
  • have anxiety
  • have individual needs

What are the benefits?

  • develop your creativity and imagination
  • improve your concentration
  • relieve tension and stress
  • create calmness and relaxation
  • improve mood
  • reduce emotional tension, anxiety, and anger
  • improve communication and collaboration in a group setting

How is it done at TUTU?

Music therapy at the TUTU Center is conducted on the basis of lesson plans and educational-therapeutic workshops, tailored to the needs and cognitive abilities in each class. The scenarios take into account the use of the most effective tools and techniques, depending on the needs of the person (individual sessions) or those participating in group activities.

Based on the best practices at the TUTU Psychophysical Development Center, we use the following:

    • projection techniques that stimulate the imagination and allow to deepen the self-awareness of the class participant.
    • instruments with which we can properly interact and combat emotional problems in children.
    • C. Orff and other musical recordings, which are a great way to decrease a child’s negative emotions.
