Individual consultation

Is your child in need of support? Are they worried, anxious with their decision making, experiencing loss, or having difficulty adapting in a new environment? We understand that their psyche and body were not prepared for such a heavy psychological burden and unexpected life changes. That’s why we offer one-on-one consultations for children and adolescents who have trauma from war and forced emigration.

These can be one-time consultations or on-going meetings that last several weeks to several months, depending on someone’s need. In some cases, to increase the effectiveness of the sessions,  the psychologists may also invite the child’s caregivers to join.

For who?

If you notice your child/teenager:

  • Has a high level of emotional tension or aggression
  • Has trouble sleeping, night terrors,  or overwhelming thoughts
  • Suffering from anxiety, is often sad or crying
  • Often talks about death or suicide
  • Often recreates events related to violence, war, or other traumatic events
  • Has difficulties adapting in a new country; including learning the language, has a fear of leaving home, or fear of going to school
  • Has conflicts in school
  • Shows signs of other types of disturbing behavior

We also work on improving communication in classrooms where children of different backgrounds learn, including how to prevent bullying or and discrimination. We also teach practical ways to create  harmony in family relationships, resolve conflicts, and fight emotional difficulties.

What are the benefits?

Individual therapy can help:

  • Reduce stress and feelings of anxiety
  • Teach you to control emotions
