Book therapy
At the TUTU Center you can find a library with interesting Ukrainian and Polish books for children, teens, and young adults. There, everyone can find something for themselves: fairy tales, legends, fiction/nonfiction stories, and also books on mental health and integration. We also offer book therapy classes. Book therapy is a type of art therapy that allows psychologists to work effectively with children and adolescents under stress.
In book therapy, we choose a book and read it together. Afterwards, we have discussions, create artwork, and play thematic games. Discussing the book helps children open up to the world, share emotions, and dreams. The heroes in their favorite books become role models for them and help them overcome problems in their real life.
For who?
- For children with high levels of emotional tension or fear, excess negative emotions, and problems with anxiety
- For refugees who want to read in their native language
- For parents who want their children to participate in interesting and creative reading activities
- For someone that is interested in learning the Polish language
What are the benefits?
Reading is not only a benefit and pleasure, but also an effective treatment for stress. It can help shape someone’s worldview, character, empathy, and tolerance. If you want your child to effortlessly engage in reading, improve their cognitive abilities, and expand their vocabulary in Polish or Ukrainian, then we cordially invite you to our Center. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of books at the TUTU Center!
